Stoneyburn War memorial
Commissioned by West Lothian Council in response to local requests that they improve the site of the village war memorial.
We developed the design concept suggested by West Lothian Council and prepared accurate scale drawings for use in construction. The intention was to create a focal point drawing the eye to the memorial while ensuring there was easy access for visitors.
The original marble memorial was retained on its brick base and polished sandstone built around this. A random rubble wall sweeps around the back of the memorial allowing the space to be planted. The marble memorial was cleaned after completion of the stonemasonry works.
