I Goat (Kenny Hunter)
Spitalfields London
Kenny Hunter’s award winning sculpture takes its place as a permanent feature in one of London’s most high profile public places, Bishops Square, Spitalfields.
The hand-sculpted goat stands atop a 3.50 metre high stack of packing crates, each individually cast in finely finished concrete. The various units, some weighing as much as 2.40 tonnes, were transported from Edinburgh and the sculpture assembled on site in one day.
Aluminium casting (goat) by Powderhall Bronze. Concrete casting (crates) by Border Concrete Products. Transport and craneage by R. D. Anderson. Project management and installation by Stoneworks. Unveiled in 2011.
