Stoneworks is owned and managed by David Lindsay.
David trained as an architectural stone carver during the early 1980’s under the guidance of Ian Ketchin and during this period worked extensively on carved ornament for the restoration of the Scottish National Portrait Gallery in Edinburgh. He later went on to work for several local stonemasonry companies before setting up his own firm in 1990.
In addition to working on many of Scotland’s most important historic buildings and monuments Stoneworks has participated in the design and construction of several prestigious public art and urban landscape projects.
David’s approach to his work is a simple one. If it is worth doing, it is worth doing well. With over 25 years practical experience in the stone industry this philosophy ensures you always receive a professional and efficient service.
Qualifications:
- Completed apprenticeship in Architectural Stone Carving - Scottish Development Agency (SDA) Crafts Training Scheme
- NPA Conservation of Masonry (SCQF level 6) - Edinburgh’s Telford College
- Networked Living: exploring information and communication technologies (SCQF level 7) - Open University
- Data, computing and information (SCQF level 7)- Open University
