What We Do

Building Surveys

Condition assessment

A general assessment of the condition of all exterior and interior building fabric.  Building elements inspected typically include walls and surface coatings, rainwater disposal systems, roof coverings, flashings, and chimneys.

Identify defects

We can identify deterioration and defects before failure causes long term consequential damage, allowing clients to adopt a proactive approach to building maintenance and repair.

Condition report

Our survey reports make use of easy to understand colour coded condition ratings to help clients make informed decisions about maintenance and repair, and to prioritise and plan works.

Recommendations

Our advice includes recommendations for remedial works and will consider the historic importance or listed status of a building, or if it is located within a conservation area.

Condition Reports

Masonry inspection

We closely inspect masonry looking for deterioration and failure that could compromise the performance of the building or develop into structural instability, and ultimately a hazard.

Stonemasonry background

An impressive stonemasonry background provides the specialist knowledge we need to comment on the condition of individual stone components, and to offer recommendations for appropriate maintenance and repair.

Condition report

Our written report describes the overall condition of inspected masonry elements, and includes sketches and annotated photographs to help clients locate and understand identified issues.

Materials analysis

If required, materials analysis can be arranged to identify a suitable match for original stone types and mortars.

Drone Inspections

Drone technology

Using the latest drone technology, we can inspect high level and otherwise difficult to view building elements.  Towers, steeples, roofs, gutters, and chimneys can all be inspected without the need for expensive scaffolding or cherry picker.

Identify defects

Slipped and missing slates, defective leadwork, blocked and corroding gutters, and unsafe masonry can all be safely identified, providing clients with invaluable information about the condition of their building.

Unobtrusive

We can conduct unobtrusive flight operations in rural and built-up areas, over private homes, tenements, churches, and commercial properties.  All we need is a safe place to take off and land our drone.

High resolution images

Our drones take high resolution images and video which are ideal for use in condition reports and building surveys.  Many of our clients ask their building contractor or roofing contractor to consider using our service.
